Check a message before you tap a link

Paste a text, WhatsApp message or email here. LinkGuard picks out the links in it (up to 8) and shows where each one really goes, with a clear answer such as Safe, Check first or Scam. On Android, you can also share messages and links straight to it.

Put it on your home screen

Only the web addresses in your message are sent for checking. Our server never reads or keeps the rest of it.

Android

  1. In Chrome, open the menu (⋮), tap Add to Home screen, then Install.
  2. Press and hold a message or link, tap Share and choose LinkGuard. It opens and checks the links straight away.
  3. If an app has no Share option, copy the message, open LinkGuard and tap Paste and check.

iPhone

  1. In Safari, open this page, open the Share menu and tap Add to Home Screen.
  2. Press and hold a message or link and tap Copy.
  3. Open LinkGuard and tap Paste and check.

iPhones don’t let websites appear in the share menu, so on iPhone LinkGuard works with Paste.
